^^^ We can recruit all we want but if players don't feel wanted or welcome their interest fizzles out before they get a chance to improve.

Nate makes good points, but it goes both ways, we also have the problem of teams that are "too active" and players get fed up, stop showing to practices/games, or quit the league because they can't get playing time in 12 minute halves where possessions are so valuable.

I think it will be impossible to grow the way we want to if we continue to recruit and then leave a dozen+ undrafted and many more as perennial benchwarmers.

I think we need to do one of the following:
-get the minors actually running (great in principle, not sure if new players are that into this idea)
-draft everyone as Trax said and then have A-team and B-team games - only one A team player can play in B team games (subject to change depending on # of players that show, B games probably don't follow as strict a schedule as A team games)
-Let the expansion happen and if teams can't show 4 to games then we scale back down, but I don't see any real harm that is done to the league.

Seriously? If we had a 2nd division this would make sense, but just because you want to GM doesn't mean you get to eliminate a team.

I do support expansion, though.

Since tiebreakers aren't in effect and the score of this game doesn't impact standings.. IDC, but moving forward if a game ends that is where the points/stats stop. It's just common sense.

Overall a good and fair analysis. I see an exciting playoffs coming up that I hope will be full of close games. 

PP improved it's roster 2x from last season on paper, but found it incredible difficult to gel into a team with an identity. With the carousel at QB, abandonment of a playbook, and lack of practices, the team wasn't able to come together in time to sneak into the playoffs.

I think it's clear that some players have difficulty on weekends; brisk, shakka, trax, and I all missed 2+ games due to other obligations.. but I give credit to everyone on the team who didn't give up on a rough season  8)

Good luck to all the teams out there. It really does seem like last season where I felt NFZ was the most talented but OO won when it mattered most. So I will go ahead and predict OO to win back to back championships!

Inactive? The other team complains every week about how we have too many people in the game room  :P , although admittedly I will be inactive this weekend (work).

I support an expansion. Rosters don't need to be this big (I think 6 or 7 max). As far as I know PP is the only team that gives bench players any meaningful minutes.. and we can blame lack of interest / inactivity.. but when newcomers have a ~10% chance to make a team and then a 1% chance of playing in games it is impossible to maintain that interest and grow the league.

More teams = more games = more opportunities

If the minors have 8, and each team has ~2 players that see little to no playing time that is 16 players right there. I also think that yes, the new teams will struggle in their first season.. but after a draft or two they will be right up there increasing the level of competition in the league.

Just my opinion. Now I'm off to the hospital  :-\

Semi-related. Perhaps we should make a season champion trophy/picture for otters players to post in their sig if they want. can change it up for each season or just change the year on it.

Problem is several of the best hosts are all on ADB. Glu, Vick, Falcons all used to host pubs but now are busy with practice. I'm free for a game or two most weeknights but there aren't rooms and my host isn't good enough for a reliable game.
